The photographs below are images taken back in the film days and are my first ever venture into photographing cricket at Grace Rd. Apologies for the quality the prints have not aged well and a digital copy has not converted well. Can anyone name the game or identify any of the players ?

The game was the Benson & Hedges Cup semi final 26/27 June 1974. Leicestershire v Somerset. The Match was scheduled for 1 day but extended into a second day. The Foxes batted first and scored 270-8 off their 55 overs. Somerset were 20-2 off 6 overs when the first day was curtailed. Leicestershire bowled out Somerset for 130 on day 2. Bizarrely Brian Davison was given MOM for his 73 despite John Steele scoring 91 and Ray Illingworth taking 5-20 off 11 overs. Viv Richards top scored for Somerset with 42 before falling to Illy as did Ian Botham
